Ohara matsuri..

Every year on November 3rd (Culture Day) they hold a big festival in Kagoshima city. Thousands of people come and dance through the streets for about four hours! It is alot of fun to watch but I guess the dancers must be pretty knackered at the end of it all!! I laughed when I saw on the news last night that at the drinks stands along the way I thought they had been handing out water but it turned out that it was mainly shochu!! THat would explain all the merry looking old men dancing around yesterday afternoon!! LOL! I hadn`t been able to go to any of the festivals over the summer because Joey was too small so I got a major kick out of watching the dancing this year. Joey enjoyed himself as well and was told he was "kawaii" (Cute) by about 10 thousand people. I swear he is going to grow up thinking that that is his name...
