Flower-arranging

I was going to wait until I could upload the photos to post about this but I figured I can always add pictures later! It is spring vacation at the moment so I have found myself with more time on my hands because alot of my students are off on holiday in exotic places like San Fransisco or Tokyo! Last week I got a phone call from an old student of mine saying that she had a friend who was from Bangladesh and would I like to meet up sometime for coffee or something because this woman has a 5 month old son. I have become very lazy about going out recently because Joey roams around so much so I invite them over here and before I knew it, coffee had become an impromptu flower-arranging (ikebana) class!!! It was very random but kind of fun to learn some of the basics of arranging. I have always wanted to take classes but I have never really had time! It was a fun afternoon! The lady from Bangladesh is really sweet (her husband is studying at the university here in Kagoshima) and her son is adorable! I am looking forward to seeing them again, even if it was a really random way to meet new people!!
