Neighbours.. everybody needs good neighbours..

Despite my complaints about living so far away from home and feeling icky, I have to say that the past couple of weeks, I have really come to appreciate the people who live around me in our apartment building. The family who live downstairs totally rock. The husband spent ten years in the US so his english is amazing but he never tries to speak english with me, which is nice because it shows he isn`t trying to be friendly just so he can practise his English. The wife of the couple who live next door, totally adores Joey. They are childless, sadly not through choice from things that she has said and she obviously loves children because she is always all over J whenever she sees him. Obviously anyone who is that nice to my son is automatically in my good books!! ;) Yesterday I was feeling really crappy and happened to bump into the woman downstairs and a couple of hours later I discovered a tupperware with one of my favourite Japanese dishes hanging on the doorknob. She has obviously worked out that the last thing I felt like doing was cooking, so she made extra food for me when she made dinner for her family. It was such a simple gesture but it was greatly appreciated and made me feel alot better about being away from my Mum, who would always make my favourite dishes when I got sick! Joey is driving me a bit batty at the moment because I seem to spend all day every day trying to keep up with his antics and it seems like I am forever saying "no joey" "That`s dangerous Joey" or "STOP IT".. I love watching my son grow up into such a lively little person but when I am tired and feeling rough, it all seems like a bit much! He can open all the doors in the apartment except the front door and the bathroom now so I spent most of the day trying to keep him out of the toilet! (which seems to be his favourite room in the apartment) My MIL is here for the night so hopefully she can take a bit of the pressure off and give me time to recover completely! I don`t feel like I have been a very good mum over the past few days!
