It`s a beautiful day hey hey!

I have to stop starting my blog posts with titles that are song lyrics! This morning I am full of the joys of life because it is a BEAUTIFUL day. The sun is shining and it is nicely hot, not too humid and I feel great as a result! I have been dancing around the apartment all morning singing songs! I think my neighbours must think I am a teeny bit crazy! I was just watching the news and apparently one of the peaks of sakurajima is showing signs of volcanic activity for the first time in 60 years. As you can see from the picture below, we can see sakurajima from our apartment and if there is a big eruption then we will probably get ALOT of ash and possibly even volcanice rocks landing on our balcony. I know I shouldn`t be because people die and are injured in volcanic eruptions (and SIL`s family actually live on the volcano itself) but I am kind of excited to see if a big eruption actually happens and what it looks like. Will keep you all posted as to what happens!!! (and Mike, if you are reading this, I know you are saying "run run away while you can" but there is 5kms of ocean between me and the volcano so I think we will probably be ok so don`t stress!!)

My friend from Sakurajima called me this morning to say "It was ashing when I drove around the south part of the island just now! Wasse hai ga tsumotteta yo!" :-D

I was impressed and surprised as every I know on Sakurajima is normally
totally nonplussed about the volcano
.
