What would you do?
About 6 weeks ago when I was looking into flights home I contacted the travel agency we used last year and asked them to fax me some quotes and possible schedules for flights to London. I had a bad experience with them last year and wasn`t impressed by their service AT ALL but I thought I would give them another chance. However, nothing arrived so I just figured that they couldn`t be bothered to do anything for the pesky complaining foreigner and went with Will Tour which is the agency I prefer anyway as they are friendly and let you pay the balance two weeks before you fly (which is great because I have to wait for Daisuke`s bonus at the end of June before I can pay off the flights) Then, out of the blue last week the other agency left messages on both mine and Daisuke`s mobile phones with reference to the fax they supposedly sent. They called again testerday. I am not sure what to do. Our fax machine is pretty state of the art and even if there isn`t enough paper/ ink, it saves the information inside and beeps alot until you solve the problem. A lack of beeping makes me think that no fax was sent or that they sent it to the wrong number. Either way I can`t be bothered to deal with these people and I can`t decide wheterh I can be bothered to call and say "look you idiots, there is not point in contacting me ONE MONTH after I originally asked for quotes because it is too late by then so you lost out on business ner ner ner ner ner.." or whether to just ignore them or whether to call and say "no fax arrived but I went with another company anyway."

Well, if you don't call them, they'll probably keep calling you, don't you think? I wouldn't bother to get in touch with them before you go, especially if you're busy, but if they do call you while you're home, I would just tell them that you went with another company.
I would let them know that you did not appreciate not receiving a fax from them, nor did you appreciate the lack of follow up promptly. Therefore you went with a company that choses to treat you like gold and willingly takes your money in return for great customer service!
I like sticking to the poor service dudes.
I agree with chelle... you need to tell them somehow. In Japan it's normal to follow up a fax with a phone call anyway (kakunin denwa) so it's poor form of them to claim they sent a fax ages go but you didn't get it.
I'd email or call to say sorry but you went with someone else, next time please make sure that you got the info :)

Why not send them a FAX and say "Sorry, but I am dealing with someone else"
Strange, some travel agents are real good (I have always had good experiences with H.I.S.) and some just seem to be operating in another world...
