Finding it hard..
I am finding it really hard to settle back into the real world at the moment! I guess five weeks away from work and life in Japan has taken its toll and my head is still in holiday mode!! I finally went grocery shopping yesterday, I tried to go on monday originally but I walked in and wanted to cry at the lack of variety and small aisles! I had to go to three different shops to get all the things I wanted for dinner tonight and tomorrow and that is just a waste of time and effort! I am suffering from Tesco withdrawal symptoms!!! There is also so little variety of food for kids and everything is full of salt and sugar!!
BUT on the bright side I am happy to be back for a couple of reasons, I like our apartment and it was good to catch up with my friends. I am also happy to have my car as we were using my Dad`s car in London and it is very small and 2 door which was a real pain for getting Joey in and out. I also missed sakurajima while I was away.
I made a pasta dish tonight with mozarella, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts; both Joey and Daisuke really enjoyed it but I am finding it really hard to get my head round having to cook Japanese food again!! I might make sushi tomorrow as I made it at home and it wa s a big success so I might give it a go as it is very simple! It is SO hot at the moment that I can`t bring myself to stand in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes at a time!!

Cooking in the heat sucks...I am longing for the cooler fall and winter!!
It definitely is hard to readjust .. hugs!
Glad to see you back-I know what you mean about trying to find stuff here to cook with-I was looking at spices today and there were so many bottles of pepper (black and white-wow!) but that was about it....
I have family in Japan and I have heard that August in Japan is sometimes unbearable!(heat wise)
You are finding it hard to get ingrediants for your non Japanese dishes and I am trying to find ingrediants for Japanese dishes with no luck! LOL
Good luck in getting readjusted!
Here from Michele's!
