fun and games..

We had a great night on saurday night when we went out for dinner and karaoke with some of our friends in kanoya. As I stopped drinking when I got pregnant and only recently started indulging in the odd drink here and there when I know Joey won`t be feeding for a while, it has been about 2 years since I last had a night like Saturday night. I sang my heart out at Karaoke and managed to get the highest score on the machine, which I was strangely proud of!!! Sunday night we had dinner with our friends whose daughter was born 4 days after Joey. The kids were VERY cute together and I will post pictures when I find my camera!! The nightmare started in the middle of the night on sunday when Joey woke up being sick everywhere. Initially I thought it was just because he was coughing and was just throwing up phlegm but as it continued and we had some projectile vomiting incidents and diarrhea, I figured that the poor baby had a stomach bug. The worst of it seemed to be over by mid-morning so we took the opportunity to hurry back to the city. We made it without any problems although Joey was sick again in the evening and still doesn`t have much of an appetited. The REAL fun and games began yesterday morning when I felt sick and spent the whole morning throwing up etc.. I still haven`t been able to eat anything but have managed to keep fluids down since yesterday evening (touch wood) Thank god my MIL was here is all I can say as having to deal with a recovered Joey when I could barely move would have been a nightmare. My lovely husband (NOT!) ignored my pleas for him to come home early after work as I was feeling horrendous still and my poor MIL was very tired as she hadn`t been able to sleep much the night before and had looked after Joey all day, so I thought an extra pair of hands would come in handy. He decided he absolutely had to go to the gym and didn`t come back until 9pm. I was pretty much ready to kill him at that point and then he started to lecture me about how best to stop the bug from spreading when I had beeen sick all day and hadn`t been able to eat anything and was stupidly weak, not one word of sympathy came from his lips and I am SOO pissed of with him. I kind of hope he gets the bug so I can be equally unsympathetic but we all know that as he is a guy, he will behave like a big baby and will act like the world is coming to an end. (Sorry to all my male readers, not that there are many because I am sure some of you don`t act like big babies when you get sick but...) I have been really unimpressed with my husband lately, I thought he would be a kind and caring husband and father but lately he has just been behaving like a self-obsessed wanker.

Yikes! Seems like you have had so much on your plate recently and I really feel for you with the hubby situation. Like my momma used to say, "Somebody ought to give him a good talking to."

Thinking of you Midori! It can't be too easy in that situation...my DH sometimes does the same thing with work so I completely understand!

*Hugs*, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time of it right now!

Your MIL sounds so sweet and very helpful! And poor Joey, I'm hoping he gets better soon.

Your hubs behavior lately with the spending time at the gym, instead of being home and giving you a hand with Joey. Not too great! Spending time at the gym is fine as you know. But not if he has a sick babe at home and a wife that's been on "sick baby" duty. With a sick babe, he needs to come home and lend a hand! No wonder you're upset!
