It was a good day...
I am really disliking Blogger beta. I have to re-sign in every time I want to make a post and when I comment on people`s blogs and it is driving me a bit batty!
Today I had a good day. I was asked to help out with interpreting at an "Integration Stay" event run by Kagoshima University. It is basically an event to "promote international understanding" and alot of foreign exchange students, university students and anyone interested in the world outside Japan get together for the weekend and attend study groups. There was a panel discussion today about education and I had to interpret from Japanese to English. It is a LONG time since I have done anything like that and I found it quite hard to concentrate! I don`t think I did a very good job but it was a good experience! The whole experience reminded me of how I ended up in Japan in the first place so it was definitely positive!!!
Joey had a great time playing with all the other kids and the university students were very taken with him. The event was held at a centre in the middle of nowhere so he really enjoyed roaming around on the luscious green grass!! (Quite rare in Japan!!) When we came back home some of the girls who live in our apartment building were out playing and he joined them and it was nearly impossible to get him to come home. I am looking forward to him being old enough to hang out outside with them on his own! Of course, by then we probably won`t be living in this building, which is kind of sad!! I have been thinking about asking the girl who lives downstairs to come and play with Joey from time to time because they get on like a house on fire and it would be a great break for me. She could come over and play with joey while I did other stuff around the house! She is only 10 so babysitting is out of the question but this could be a perfect opportunity for me to get a break from my crazy son on the weekends when Daisuke is busy/ not around. Joey LOVES her so it would be a good thing all round!!!
ok, I will stop babbling now! Jenn brought round the second series of Veronica Mars again yesterday so I get to watch it again having watched Season 1. I really need to get my arse in gear and order my region-free DVD player, I just can`t decide which one to get!!!

Cool that you were able to do something outside the norm!
Becca totally wants to play with the kids that hang out side, however in this area I am secretly glad she can't!
