Update on my update!!

Joey was great until about 6pm and then he turned into a MR cranky pants EXTRAORDINAIRE. NOT good when I was trying to teach and he refused to go to the mother of my student. Class was a bit of a nightmare but hopefully he will be better behaved next time! My student`s mother was very understanding, I probably should have cancelled the class but the sod`s law would have been that had I cancelled, he would have been 100% OK!! He is obviously not feeling his best and has been whiney all evening. He is finally in bed and I finally managed to take his temperature. (He struggles too much when he is awake!) His temperature is now 39.5 degrees so I guess we know why he was so cranky! If he wakes up again I will give him some more calpol as the does he had around 4pm has clearly worn off! I tried to put one of those cooling plaster type things on his forehead but he started screaming so I am guessing it doesn`t feel nice! He has had his first dose of antibiotics and I am hoping they will start to kick in sooner rather than later as I hate him having such a high fever! :-( If anyone has any handy "lowering a fever" tips, I am all ears!!

Poor little guy.Annie refuses always to have those forehead things, too.Hope Joey is feeling better and that his fever comes down.No advice about getting it down as I am still totally confused if the right way is the western way of sponging with tepid water or the Japanese way of just covering them as usual and keeping them warm. The clashing fo cultures can be veery frustrating!

We used to sweat it out in this country too (USA). Now it's usually a tepid bath or sponging. Some people use rubbing alcohol with older kids - he's a little young for that.
