DOH!!!!

So this week I have resolved to make bentos for lunch for Daisuke, partly a money-saving exercise and partly because I have a freezer full of obento stuff that I need to use before all the stuff I ordered from the 5% off week at Co-op arrives on Friday!! Last night I made the "okazu" (which translates as stuff other than rice) and put the rice cooker on to come on this morning in time for the rice to be cooked when I got up. Then we had a power shortage and everything went off because we were running a heater, the dryer and the dishwasher at the same time (note to self, look into increasing the wattage) I re-set everything but this morning when I went to get the rice out, it wasn`t ready because I had forgotten to switch it back on!!! I am an idiot.. so I had to shrug my shoulders and hand over cash for lunch to Daisuke!!! It isn`t a total waste though as I am thinking of sending Joey to daycare this afternoon because my back hurts and I could do with a break so I guess he will get the benefit of the bento and I will eat the leftovers myself! As an aside, winter had totally come to Kagoshima!! It was soo cold when I woke up this morning. Last night while I had class Daisuke took Joey to an onsen and that gave me an extra half an hour or so to myself so I sorted out my chest of drawers and threw out all the summer stuff that is either too small/ too old or hasn`t been worn since we moved here. I have to sort through my winter clothes but they are all SO old as I haven`t been able to buy winter clothes since the winter I was at home before we got married. AND that winter I was working in London and planning to come back here and hopefully work in an office so alot of the stuff is quite smart, which totally doesn`t suit my current life!!! I think it might be time to take a look at some online stuff and come up with suggestions for Xmas presents for my friends back home!!! Which brings me onto Christmas itself. I totally have to get my arse in gear this year and buy everyone gifts as every year my friends at home get their presents in the summer and that is just rubbish!!

I always keep those cheap "in case of emergency" rice packs around just in case. I've been known to blow a fuse by using the aircon and the oven at the same time. Ooops.
